The Kindermusik®
music program introduces children to the basic elements of music
(instruments, rhythm, pitch, dynamics, music styles and cultures)
while also focusing on traditional preschool concepts. The class is
designed to nurture the development of the whole child, emphasizing
six major learning domains: physical, emotional, social, cognitive,
language and musical. The focus of the curriculum is on process not
performance.
Early integration
of music into a child’s routine means improving his/her ability to
think, reason, create and express. Exposure to music, especially in
the early years, plays a crucial role in child’s musical, intellectual
and social development, plus Kindermusik® is fun!
Every semester the
program highlights a different theme (cities, transportation, backyard
fun, etc.) Each week children will have the
opportunity
to play different types of instruments, learn new songs based on the
theme, explore different movements activities and sensory items such
as scarves, hula hoops, balls or streamers. This is a wonderful
opportunity for children to interact and learn in a small group
setting…and have a marvelous musical experience at the same time!
Classes are
held on Thursdays at 2:50 p.m. for Preschool and 3:30 for
Pre-Kindergarten students. |
